I’ve conscript to incorporate her because of her Documentary photographs. The way she portrays and documents families in their day to day lives. I find her work motivating and fascinating to explore on.
Kristen is one of the best documentary family photographers in the world. Kristen shoots over 90 families in a 3 month time period every season. Since relocation to Colorado, she has focused on her highly sought after Day in the Life and Vaction sessions where she spends up to 72hrs with a family documenting their daily life, with humour and compassion alike.
I’ve included a few examples from her Portfolio, which stood out to me the most, because she does an ludicrously good job of portraying and documenting the families lives in one perfect shot. All of these shots have a sense of humour and passion which portrays that family in a different way from the others. Lewis is quite a big influence into my work therefore she photographs children which I’m approaching in my series. So it does give me inspiration and viewpoints to reflect on. Her photos are a variety of colour and black and white which I find interesting to view, as personally I would choose one or the other. But i actually like the way she has her own stylistic approach to her set of images.
